Assortment Planning Project Analyst
Assortment Planning is a process by which an assortment framework is developed to support and execute to the overall merchandise and planning strategies; balancing the art of the merchant against the science of detailed planning analytics.
The goal of Assortment Planning is to increase sales and profitability; by breaking down the merchandise strategy into components that enable merchant and planning teams to strategically address customer preferences and need.
Assortment planning enhances and maintains the brand image, manages inventory productivity, while addressing customer preferences and demands.
The primary components of apparel Assortment planning include - timing of floorset deliveries, fixture placement, balanced mix of product attributes (color, silhouette, style detail, fashion pyramid, fabrication, size etc.
) in addition to optimizing the balance between breadth (number of choices), and depth (qty by choice).
Position
Summary:
The Assortment Planning Project Analyst is the primary contact for assortment planning tools, timelines and process support.
This individual is responsible for supporting and facilitating the assortment planning process efficiencies among cross-functional teams.
This position coordinates upgrades, enhancements and seasonal rollouts of forms, tools and business process calendar updates.
This individual will also be responsible for creating, maintaining and communicating the assortment planning & business process calendar in MS Project.
Responsibilities:
oProactively propose, design, test and implement changes within tools; improving efficiencies in our assortment planning process oAssist in seasonal set up and rollout of assortment planning tools, and forms for cross functional teams oTroubleshoot and resolve issues, questions and concerns to users of the Assortment Planning tools oResponsible for developing, and maintaining assortment form documentation and training oCoordinates clear and concise communication across all skill sets for activities driven from the assortment planning tools and processes oCreate, maintain and communicate the assortment planning & business calendar using MS Project oIdentify potential timeline opportunities or conflicts; partner in proposing solutions to improve workflow oAssist with ad-hoc assortment planning assignments Skills:
oAbility to work efficiently on multiple tasks, and move seamlessly from one task to the next oExcellent organizational and time management skills oEnthusiastic approach to developing creative solutions oAbility to work well within a team environment, interacting frequently with cross functional teams.
oExcellent problem solving and analytical skills oAbility to work at a detailed level while maintaining an overall project perspective oExceptional interpersonal/team building skills, including the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization oExcellent written and oral communication skills - must be able to coach tool users with varying skill sets oUnderstanding of merchandising, planning or retail environment is a plus Requirements
Experience:
oAdvanced to Expert Excel Skills - Macros, Complex formulas oExperience with Visual Basic (VBA Coding) oExperienced user of MS Access oPrior exposure to MS Project preferred oPrevious experience with Microstrategy is preferred oPrevious retail industry experience preferred Education:
oBachelor's Degree.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
