Creative Director

The Creative Director ensures the development of consistently superior marketing materials that will support established marketing strategies and project the appropriate inspirational image for the brand. The Creative Director is responsible for the internal creative development of collateral, point-of-sale, advertising, promotional, packaging, and labeling materials, web, video etc., so they are consistent with the defined brand standards. This position works closely with the EVP and Chief Marketing Officer to develop an overall Brand sensibility that maximizes the merchant's vision and strategy by developing them into a marketing plan. The Creative Director will manage the day-to-day work flow through the creative team while being able to strategize the holistic message to the consumer in all touch-points of the Brand. Responsibilities include:
Recruit, select and develop design staff and creative freelance personnel, and maintain outside creative resources for freelance designers and artists.
Remain aware of the latest trends and technologies in the creative arena.
Work within established budget and scheduling parameters for creative development.
Directs a group of 8-12 full time creative team members including copy development, graphic designers and freelance artists.
Recommend and present creative staff to senior management.
Direct creative execution of all collateral, point-of-sale, promotional, web, labeling, packaging, videos and internal communications materials.
Execute marketing photo shoots including booking of models, photographers and other talent and negotiation of related fees.
When requested, provide creative direction for internal special events and projects.
Conceptualize, develop, implement and maintain brand identities and fashion leadership through all marketing communication to customers.
Manage the artistic translation of the company's brand strategy and marketing plans into creative, fashion oriented and persuasive communications to customers.
Partner with marketing management team to develop and maintain seamless communication, approved workflow and procedures, ensuring timely and cost-effective design and production of marketing related materials.
Conduct regular store visits and competitive shop audits and provide competitive creative analysis.
Participate in all research to understand and maintain customer intimacy.
Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Fine Arts
10
years' experience in retail, women's specialty retail, or a combination of retail and agency; brand experience is required.

years in the creative field, retail fashion or advertising agency
Experience in the development of retail collateral, point-of-sale and professional materials
Experience in art direction of photography, graphic design and the web
Able to translate established marketing strategies into a clear, concise and appealing visual which are consistent with brand image
Must be excellent creative presenter with the ability to articulate and sell concepts to senior management by discussing how those concepts meet the brand's strategic marketing objectives
Superb typographic, design and production skills with the ability to provide creative leadership, set high creative standards, stimulate creativity and bring innovation to the business
Ability to demonstrate delegation techniques, motivate and manage an in-house staff of graphic designers and copywriters while managing multiple tasks and outside creative resources
Able to work within established budgeting and scheduling parameters, negotiate effectively with outside creative vendors, and manage department activities to ensure teamwork and successful flow of work throughout the department
Developed leadership, team building and motivational skills
