Position Summary:
This position is responsible for performing the basic Customer Service Representative (CSR) duties with limited supervision. An employee in this level should have a general understanding of all CSR duties. Assignments are routine in nature and are carried out in accordance with general work instructions and established office practices, procedures, and precedents. They should also have the ability and willingness to answer general questions concerning banking matters when asked by customers. They should be knowledgeable in all Bank policies and procedures. Work is performed under the supervision of a Branch Manager.
Process client transactions as required in the new account area. These transactions include but are not limited to; opening and closing Certificates of Deposit, Savings accounts, Checking accounts, and all specialty accounts.
Maintain confidentiality of depositor information and ensure that all applicable policies are adhered to.
Meeting the needs of the customers in every capacity, including but not limited to processing basic teller transactions and following up on customer transactions.
Answer basic inquiries in person or by telephone from customers concerning their accounts.
Interview loan applicants, complete and process all necessary loan papers in accordance with Bank procedure.
Open and distribute office mail.
Process change of addresses and title changes on various accounts.
Maintain and update signature card files.
Maintain customer folders and customer accounts.
Type correspondence and reports as directed by management.
Maintain and requisition office supplies as needed.
Recognize and practice the cross selling program.
Assist the branch in daily branch settlement.
Required Skills:
Two years experience as a Teller or Customer Service Representative
High School graduate.
Good listening skills.
Ability to establish a positive service oriented environment with any prospective customer.
General knowledge of business English, spelling and punctuation.
Position demands a person with an outgoing, sales-oriented personality.
Must be able to follow instructions from immediate supervisor.
Ability to operate a CRT Terminal, Check Encoder, microfilmer and personal computer.
Ability to file signature cards and correspondence in numerical and alphabetical order.
Assist tellers with end of day settlement.
Must display a conservative, businesslike appearance.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
